About Cherry County Criminal History

Cherry County criminal records are split among the sheriff, two trial-court clerks, the Nebraska State Patrol, the state corrections system, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. That split can make a simple record question hard to route. We built this private reference site to connect residents with the right official portal, counter, mailing address, or phone line for records centered in Valentine and held elsewhere across Nebraska.

Why We Built This Site

Nebraska provides several public access routes, yet each record still belongs to a particular custodian. The Cherry County Sheriff and Justice Center hold local reports and custody material. Cherry County Court and the District Court Clerk keep filed charges, proceedings, and outcomes. The Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division maintains the central criminal-history repository, while the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry cover different state systems. This site organizes official links, request steps, fees, and contact details without merging those records into one product.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: where to reach the Cherry County Sheriff, Justice Center, and criminal court clerks
  • Official check instructions: how Nebraska State Patrol RAP requests and fingerprint channels differ
  • Record explanations: how criminal court files, arrest records, custody data, and registry profiles answer different questions
  • Relief information: how Nebraska set-asides and public dissemination limits work without erasing the court case

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Nebraska court, law enforcement office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • We cannot issue a certified court file, criminal-history report, or other official record
  • We cannot submit a public-record request or set-aside petition for a visitor
  • We cannot provide legal advice about a warrant, charge, sentence, or registry duty
  • We cannot run an official background check or correct a government record
  • We cannot promise that an agency's hours, price, address, or procedure has not changed

Only the record holder, such as the sheriff, court clerk, or Nebraska State Patrol, can provide an official copy. The document must come from that office.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. Each provider controls its own service, results, privacy rules, and price. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may result in a referral fee, which supports free access to this reference material. We do not set a partner's charges or control the records it returns.
